Hiking: Jim Doyle — On February 7th,  I attended the semi annual NY NJ Trails Conference at the Sea Farers and International House in NYC. I had the opportunity to speak to the group and present the Pathfinders goals and objectives. I discussed the status of our trails including details on Frank Applegate. I gave the Executive Director, Ed Goodaal one of the green trail maps that Tom did such a god job on. They were impressed and unanimously voted us in. The Trails Conference is dedicated to creating and maintaining trails in NY and NJ and have extensive knowledge and influence. They can be a major resource for the Pathfinders and will help promote us. They liked the idea of the 22 mile trail loop and were mildly amused when I said we wanted one of our trails in the book of the 50 best hikes in NJ. The latest on our membership is, they requested 2002 application which I will fill out and send this week. They asked for payment also. If Tom could send details on how to process the voucher to Kathleen O'Gorman at Kathleen@nynjtc.org that would be a big help.

Millstone Township Guests: The group was very interested in learning how we got started, and how long we have been in existence.

Discussions: Report from Karen Walzer and Dawn Rakow from West Lake booth. There were about 100 people there and it was very informative.

Also discussed was the purchase of postcard paper and supplies from Staples.

Recreation Commission next meeting is March 4, 2002 at 7:30pm.

The next Pathfinder meeting will be April 18,2002 at the Public Works Building.

Some high school students were also present at our meeting.

Meeting was adjourned at 9:36pm. Respectfully submitted.
