Pathfinders Minutes                  November 15, 2001                 Town hail, employee lounge


Karen Borga, Chairperson, called the meeting to order at 8:15pm in the town hail employee lounge.

In attendance: Karen Borga, Tom Stevens, Karen Waizer, Sarah Ralston, Jim Doyle, A.V. Santa Maria, Daimon Santa Maria, Wayne Brodbeck.

The October minutes were approved.

Treasurer's report:
$2833.98 Balance October Meeting —some sofiware had been approved; then cancelled.

Corresponding secretary's report: Sarah Ralston — Thank you letter to boy scout went out. Letter supporting all types of recreation to committee went out. Pathfinders is nominating Tom Stevens for consideration in the Asbury Park Press outstanding citizens second annual edition of Hometown Heroes-People Who Make a Difference.

Pathfinders Events: - Joy Cole-absent — no report

Biking: -Uriah Albrink — absent - no report

Hiking:-Jim Doyle- Assisted in Frank Applegate trail on Sunday, November 11. Completed "Caranza to Apple Pie Hill" hike in Wharton State Forest, October 20th It was an 8.2 mile round trip bike on the Batona trail with a couple of good examples of elevated foot paths and a great view from Apple Pie Hill. The November hike at Wells Mills CountyPark, scheduled for Saturday, November 17th was postponed.

No hikes planned in December due to the holidays. Other News: Joining the NY/NJ trail conference. We have approval for the $50.00 application fee from Jackson Twp./Pathfinders budget. Tom Stevens mailed the application and Scott Voorhees acknowledged receiving it. He will present it to the February general assembly meeting in NYC for a vote. I will try to attend as the Pathfinders representative.

Frank Applegate Road: Dawn Rakow —Report from pruning day, Sunday, Nov 11. Pathfinders has contacted Jack Marci to help mark the trail.

Grants: Dawn Rakow — Should we use the Bruno group to help us with grants? Monday, November 1 12th seminar —report —fund raising. The seminar was very informative,. Although Pathfinders does not do fund raising, the techniques learned can be used to recruit volunteers.

Discussions: If we move to the Public Works building, we must be out by 9:30pm.

Nominations for board members. Brenda Gregory would like to stay on as our recording secretary.
